John Spears
President
John is one of the co-leaders for consulting engagements and is the author of the firm's Drilling and Production Outlook and the Drilling and Completion Services Cost Index Reports. After getting an MBA, John worked as a management consultant in the Detroit office of a Big 4 accounting firm. John has served as an independent consultant in the IPO process of six Chinese firms serving the upstream oilfield equipment and service industry.
If I were not working for Spears & Associates, I'd be... learning about data fusion technology.
Richard Spears
Vice President
Richard is one of the co-leaders for consulting engagements and is the primary author of the firm's Oilfield Market Report and the Oilfield Logix series. After engineering school, Richard worked as a senior field engineer for Halliburton, designing and running cement, stimulation and completion tool jobs in Western Oklahoma. Richard sits on the boards of several privately owned oilfield service companies.
If I were not working for Spears & Associates, I'd be... playing rhythm guitar in my daughter's band in Nashville.
Katie Bewley
Director of Client Relations
Katie uses her dynamic social skills as the Director of Client Relations at Spears & Associates. She strives to keep our clients happy and informed. She has over 15 years of sales and management experience in a variety of areas. Katie graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Psychology.
If I were not working for Spears & Associates, I'd be... sipping a glass of Sangiovese in the heart of Tuscany.
Chris Ingraham
Executive Administrative Assistant
Chris uses her superb organizational skills to keep everyone at the firm in order. From accounts receivable to directing the phone lines, Chris assists our Executive Management team in the daily office support.
If I were not working for Spears & Associates, I'd be... enjoying the local fare in Santorini, Greece.
Lauren Collette
Data Analyst
Lauren is the lead analyst for Spears & Associates, in charge of producing graphical analysis of the Oilfield Logix database for use in various reports and consulting-based projects. Lauren recently graduated from the University of Tulsa with a B.S. in Mathematics where she also competed for three years in NCAA Division 1 Track and Field.
If I were not working for Spears & Associates, I'd be... sailing in a catamaran around the Caribbean Islands.
Missy Parker
Data Analyst
Missy is a data analyst primarily involved in the research of the Oilfield Service companies and their product lines that populate our Oilfield Market Report. Missy graduated from Oral Roberts University with a degree in Mathematics.
If I were not working for Spears & Associates, I'd be... writing a book on "101 ways to incorporate coconut oil into your diet."
Walt Jordan
Special Project Consultant
Walt has had over 60 years of experience in the oilfield from his days as a frac engineer for Dowell to the many hours spent doing research for our firm. He works part time at Spears & Associates as a special project consultant interviewing drilling engineers.
If I were not working for Spears & Associates, I'd be... raising quarter horses and caring for my livestock.
David Otte
Special Advisor
David serves as Special Advisor to the firm and has assumed responsibility for the OMR from Richard in 2015. Mr. Otte has worked in the energy services sector for 35+ years in operations, management and executive roles at Schlumberger, Halliburton, Computalog, Gray Wireline and most recently Allied Wireline. David’s education includes a BS in Engineering Physics and an MBA in Finance.
